Actor Akshay Kumar on November 17 had issued a defamation notice to Youtuber Rashid Siddiquee seeking Rs 500 crores in damages for making false allegations against him in the investigation of beloved actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Now, the Youtuber has responded to the notice asking the actor to withdraw it or else he will initiate applicable “legal proceedings” against him.
Rashid Siddiquee, in his reply to the notice served to him by Akshay Kumar, said the allegations made by Akshay Kumar were “false, vexatious and oppressive and is raised with an intent to harass him”.
The Youtuber also claimed that countless other bloggers, video makers, influencers, and independent journalists covered the news of Sushant Singh Rajput passing away as media channels were not providing accurate information. He has not defamed anyone but stated the truth.
“The damages of Rs 500 crore are absurd and unwarranted and are made with the intent to pressurize Siddiquee,” the reply said. Siddiquee sought Kumar to withdraw the notice and said if it is not done, he would initiate appropriate legal proceedings.
