According to the latest reports by the IT officials, mobile data on the Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap’s phones have been deleted. Check out the details.
The Income Tax department raided the residence of Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap, and several shareholders of Phantom Films on Wednesday. In a recent statement, the officials of the IT department stated that the production house shareholders are suspected of income tax evasion which sums up to around Rs 650 crores. As per reports, the discrepancies included ‘bogus expenditure’ and ‘fake’ bills. Furthermore, it was claimed that Taapsee had accepted an amount of Rs 5 crores in cash as the actress’s detailed statement was recorded on 3rd March.
According to the latest development in the case, IT officials suspect data has been erased from the actress’s phone. To retrieve the deleted data, officials are taking the help of experts. As a result of this, Taapsee would be called to record another statement in a few days. As per the reports, mobile data of ‘many shareholders’ including director Anurag Kashyap was wiped off. The department is suspecting that the data was deleted after Narcotics Control Bureau crackdown took place post-Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise.
The IT department may expect Taapsee and Anurag’s presence to record another statement tomorrow. The two have been filming in Pune for their upcoming sci-fi film Dobaara. So far, the raids have taken place in 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune. The news came to light after ANI confirmed it on their Twitter handle stating, “Income Tax raids underway at the properties of film director Anurag Kashyap and actor Taapsee Pannu in Mumbai: Income Tax Department.”
