An Iranian lady and Instagram impression who spurted to publicity in 2017 for posting massively deformed pictures of herself where she looked like a ‘Zombie Angelina Jolie’ have been confined to a decade in an Iranian prison a year after she arrested for her social media activities.
The woman, Sahar Tabar, 19, whose original name is Fatemeh Khishvand, from Tehran did thick makeup and editing to get the ghostly look on her face and following gained renown the zombie version of Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie. Indeed though she rumoured to hold 50 plastic surgeries to get the look. Shortly after she posted images of her emaciated face online, those spread viral, plus she earned nearly 500,000 followers on Instagram. Nevertheless, her account has been removed after her arrest.
Still, though the largest people took Tabar’s posts as a laugh, this performance act later got her arrested on October 5, 2019, in Iran, along with three other female Instagram influencers. She was restrained by judicial authorities after members of the society reportedly made accusations against her.
The statements against her were blasphemy, inciting violence, gaining income through improper means, and also supporting juvenile people to corruption and disrespecting the Islamic Republic. Nevertheless, a report in The Guardian said that Tabar had been realized of two of the four rounds against her, but she did not want to comment more because she was yet wishing for a release.
The news regarding her sentencing was verified by Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad. The journalist and activist told Daily Mail that she spoke to Tabar’s lawyer who confirmed that the influencer has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in the past few days for “promoting public corruption.”
Alinejad shared the news on Twitter and wrote, “10 years jail for Iranian Instagrammer who used makeup and Photoshop to become a zombie Angelina Jolie. Sahar Tabar is only 19. Her joke landed her in jail. Her mother cries every day to get her innocent daughter freed. Dear Angelina Jolie! we need your voice here. Help us..”
The statement also mentioned that Tabar’s pharmaceutical reports imply she was enduring from mental sickness, with a chronicle of visits to psychiatric clinics, making the 10-year punishment even less understandable. Her attorneys had also asked for her to be cleared and pointed to her age at the time she committed the alleged offenses.
