I thought the paleo banana bread with chocolate and almond butter or the whole wheat banana bread with Greek yogurt were the gold standards…
….BUT, i was wrong.

Today’s cinnamon swirl banana bread takes banana bread to the next level and trust me, you’ll never want to go back. It’s impossibly easy to make, has all that banana goodness, is perfectly tender, AND has the most sweet and satisfying ribbons of cinnamon sugar running throughout it. Trust me, this will be a new favorite, go-to recipe in your house and it probably won’t last long so make a few loaves!
Head over to your baking cabinet and pull out all the basics, because that’s what you’ll need for this cinnamon banana bread recipe. It is made with typical baking ingredients that you will probably have hanging around your pantry already. Here’s what you will need:
- All Purpose flour or gluten free 1:1 flour
- Baking Powder
- Mashed Ripe Banana
- White Sugar
- Coconut Sugar
- Avocado Oil
How to make Cinnamon Banana Bread
Turn on the oven and let it preheat while you prepare the batter. Line the bottom of a loaf pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and rub the sides with oil.
Add the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt to a medium sized bowl and whisk to combine. In a larger bowl, add the banana, eggs, sugar, oil and vanilla and whisk until smooth. Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and whisk just until smooth.
Using a rubber spatula, spoon half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Mix together the filling ingredients and sprinkle on top, then use your spatula to scoop the rest of the batter on top of the filling.
Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool completely in the pan, then slice, serve and DEVOUR!

Print Cinnamon Banana Bread
- 4 Tbsp White sugar
- 1 Tbsp Cinnamon
Pre heat your oven to 350 degrees and line the bottom of an 8 inch loaf pan with parchment paper, rubbing the sides with oil.
In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. In a separate large bowl, whisk the banana, eggs, sugar, oil and vanilla until well mixed.
Add the dry ingredients into the banana mixture and whisk until mixed. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan
Mix the filling ingredients and sprinkle over the bread. Gently, spoon the rest of the batter over top
Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 1 hour 10 – 20 mins. Let cool COMPLETELY in the pan.
